From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

IMDb - otherwise known as The Internet Movie Database - has become the go-to website for those wishing to discover more information about their favourite films, TV shows, and actors.

Every year, the site announces the ten most searched for overall actors, with Margot Robbie topping the list this year thanks to her appearance in Suicide Squad.

In second comes Emilia Clarke, riding high off the popularity of Game of Thrones, while newcomer Millie Bobby Brown came in third after her portrayal of Eleven in Stranger Things.

Only two male actors appear on the list - Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio - both of whom starred in The Revenant, released earlier this year in the UK. Despite Leo being the Oscar winner, it was Hardy who came higher in the list.

The most searched for new actors list was topped by Brown, with Haley Bennett - who starred in The Magnificent Seven and The Girl on the Train - coming second, while Spider-Man actor Tom Holland came in third.
