Officers are looking into separate incidents alleged to have occurred between the 1980s and 2015 in London and outside of Britain.
Officers from the Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command said they are investigating allegations from victims under Operation Kaguyak.
The Met Police said no arrests have been made over any of the allegations at this stage.
New York police are also investigating claims against Weinstein – including rape and sexual assault.
The movie mogul, who produced Oscar-winning films Shakespeare in Love, The English Patient, and The Artist, faces more than 50 allegations of sexual harassment and assault.
Earlier on Tuesday, Weinstein received a lifetime ban from Producers Guild of America following a unanimous vote from members.
Earlier this month, UK police confirmed they were looking into claims from three women that they were attacked in Westminster, Camden and west London.
According to the police statement, one woman alleges she was sexually assaulted outside of Britain in 2012 and again in Westminster in 2013 and 2014.
Another woman has claimed the same man sexually assaulted her in London in 2010, 2011 and 2015.
Police have not provided any more details about the alleged victims or offences.
Weinstein, who has recently been expelled from the Oscars and sacked from his namesake company, has previously “unequivocally” denied all accusations of non-consensual sex.
“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr Weinstein. Mr Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances,“ his spokesperson told The Independent in a statement.
The Independent contacted a representative for Weinstein about the new allegations being investigated by the Met Police.
