From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Through Pottermore, JK Rowling has managed to keep the quantity of Harry Potter content flowing, releasing various essays, quizzes, and pieces of artwork through the website.

On Thursday, Pottermore released a new feature to rival the sorting hat; the Patronus Charm quiz. Written by Rowling, participants are asked to summon their happiest memory and then answer various questions quickly while being guided around an evocative 3D dark forest.

Once you have answered the numerous multiple-choice questions, Pottermore present you with your Patronus Charm - the magical, unique creatures formed of light seen. Take the quiz here.

In the novels, Harry Potter’s Patronus is a stag, reflecting his father’s Animagus transformation. Meanwhile, Professor Snape’s is a doe, representing his love for Lily Potter, Harry’s mother.

Pottermore CEO Susan L. Jurevics said in a statement: “We are so delighted to be bringing J.K. Rowling’s most famous spell magically to life on Pottermore, for everyone to enjoy and discover their authentic Patronus, for free.

“It’s been fantastic working with J.K. Rowling and our creative and development teams to realise her vision, using the latest technology to create this little piece of magic for our site.”
