From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has already had a long road to production.

Following the firing of director James Gunn by Disney after resurfaced tweets were shared on the internet, production was put on hold, with the cast and crew being told filming would be delayed indefinitely.

However, everything seems to have picked up again, as Chris Pratt has revealed that the sequel is being worked on and Gunn’s script will form the basis for the film.

“It’s off the chain, it’s so good,” Pratt said of the script to MTV news.

Questioned further about Gunn, the actor – promoting The Lego Movie 2 – said: “Well, I love James and I’m loyal to James. We’re gonna deliver the movie. We’re gonna give the fans what they deserve. I think it’s in the nature of the Guardians Of The Galaxy to get the job done, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Who exactly will helm the upcoming Guardians film remains unknown. One fan favourite to take the position was Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi, who has since denied taking on the project.

Before then, Marvel fans have Avengers: Endgame to look forward to, which will star the Guardians. Find out everything you need to know about the film here.
