Your support makes all the difference.The 60th Grammy Award nominations have been revealed, with Jay Z leading the pack with eight, followed by Kendrick Lamar’s seven and Childish Gambino’s five.
One of the most surprising nominees comes in the “Best Spoken Word Album” category, where Carrie Fisher has been put forward for The Princess Diarist.
The late actress recorded an audiobook version of the candid memoir last year. The novel sees Fisher explore the journals she kept while filming the first Star Wars movie.
Fisher — who passed away 27 December 2016 — competes against Neil Degrasse Tyson with Astrophysics For People In A Hurry, Bruce Springsteen’s reading of autobiography Born To Run, Shelly Peiken’s Confessions Of A Serial Songwriter, and Bernie Sanders’s Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In with Mark Ruffalo.
This year’s Grammy nominations have proven somewhat controversial for missing out some major pop artists, including Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift. Read the full list of nominees here.
Meanwhile, Fisher will appear in the upcoming Star Wars movie The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnson and reaching UK cinemas 14 December.
