Fans have praised a star-studded cast including Morgan Freeman and Julia Roberts for their ‘iconic’ roles in Fast Times at Ridgemont High table read.

The virtual event, which saw former partners Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reunite on screen for the first time in nearly two decades, was live-streamed on Facebook on Thursday (17 September) as a charity fundraiser.

An impressive cast got together to read from the 1982 teen drama’s script, with Freeman narrating while Roberts, Aniston, Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Jimmy Kimmel, John Legend, Ray Liotta and Henry Golding all starred.

A number of the stream’s most notable moments were shared on social media. One widely shared scene shows Aniston’s Linda Barrett teaching Roberts’ Stacy Hamilton how to perform oral sex, using a carrot.

“The girls are sliding the carrot sticks down their throats, without gagging,” Freeman narrated.

“Jennifer Aniston teaching Julia Roberts how to give a blow job is the most iconic thing,” one fan wrote, while another tweeted: “Petition for Ms Julia Roberts and Ms Jennifer Aniston to do a movie together.”

In another scene Brad Hamilton (Pitt) has a sexual fantasy about his crush Linda, with Aniston sending fans into a frenzy as she told him: “Hi, Brad. You know how cute I always thought you were. I think you're so sexy. Will you come to me?”

Freeman then narrated Brad’s fantasy, reading how Linda’s “breasts seemed even bigger than usual” and her “nipples were hard”.

“Lord have mercy,” the legendary actor added, as the rest of the cast cracked up.

A number of fans singled out Roberts’ reaction to the scene in particular, as she sat beaming with her head in her hands.

“Julia roberts watching jen aniston and brad pitt’s scene is priceless tho,” one viewer wrote.

For the role of stoner Jeff Spicoli, LaBeouf sat shirtless in his car, donning a pair of reflective sunglasses while smoking throughout.

“Shia LaBeouf going “full method” actor to play Spicoli during this #FastTimesLive table read is just *chef’s kiss*,” a fan wrote.

The event raised more than $50,000 (£38,500) for relief fund CORE, as well as criminal justice reform group Reform Alliance.
