From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The first trailer for Fast & Furious 9 has been released, giving a glimpse of what’s to come when Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez return to the franchise.

This instalment will find Diesel’s character, Dom Toretto, attempting to live a peaceful life off the grid with his wife Letty Ortiz, portrayed by Rodriguez.

But naturally, danger looms – this time in the form of Dom’s brother Jakob, a skilled assassin and driver played by John Cena.

The trailer was unveiled on Friday after a concert featuring Cardi B, Ozuna, Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth and Ludacris.

It was revealed in the lead-up to Super Bowl weekend in the US, in Miami, where the sporting event is taking place this Sunday.

The clip, which lasts almost four minutes, is full of the vertiginous stunts and high-speed car chases that have become synonymous with the franchise.

Fast & Furious 9 is a sequel to the 2017 The Fate of the Furious, which also starred Diesel and Rodriguez.

Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and Michael Rooker will all appear in this instalment.

Fast & Furious 9 will be released on 22 May 2020 in the UK and the US.
