The film, directed by Joe Berlinger, depicts Bundy’s arrest and trial from the perspective of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who struggled to accept the reality of his crimes.
Authorities believed that Bundy raped, murdered and dismembered more than 30 women before he was caught and executed at the Florida State Prison in 1989. The release of the project coincides with the 30th anniversary of his execution.
The new trailer takes on a distinctly more chilling, sombre tone than the first look at the film, which was released to coincide with its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
The initial trailer was accused of glamourising, or even sexualising, Bundy himself, with initial reviews confirming this was at odds with the tone of the film itself.
The film also stars Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, and Jeffrey Donovan.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will be released in UK cinemas and on Sky Cinema from 3 May.
