A heartbreaking new trailer has been unveiled for Tim Burton’s upcoming Dumbo remake.

The live-action version of the classic Disney film, which is set to be released in March 2019, stars Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins as two children who care for the baby elephant, whose peculiar ears turn him into a circus sensation.

The newly released trailer includes additional scenes pertaining to Dumbo’s birth, and the initial disdain of ringmaster Max Medici (Danny DeVito), who upon seeing newborn Dumbo declares he has “a face only a mother could love”.

War veteran and former circus star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) is then tasked to “make those ears disappear” – an impossible task, of course.

The trailer then shows Dumbo discovering that his ears enable him to fly, and includes flashes of his rise to circus stardom as entrepreneur VA Vandemere (Michael Keaton) gets involved.

Dumbo also stars Eva Green as Colette Marchant, an aerial artist.

The film is one of a series of live-action remakes released by Disney over recent months. Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book have both been remade into live-action versions.

The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Mulan are all set to get remade as well.
