Not being one to wait around, Trump has already responded to the Streep’s speech, dismissing the acclaimed actor as “a Hillary lover”.
In a brief interview with The New York Times, Trump - despite having not seen the speech - revealed he was “not surprised” by “liberal movie people” attacking his character.
UPDATE: Trump has also Tweeted in response to Streep, calling her "one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood" in a series of Tweets.
Trump also spoke about his upcoming inauguration, a hotly debated topic after numerous celebrities revealed they would not play.
“We are going to have an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout for the inauguration, and there will be plenty of movie and entertainment stars,” Trump told the NYT. “All the dress shops are sold out in Washington. It’s hard to find a great dress for this inauguration.”
Streep’s speech at the Golden Globes was one of many to criticise Trump, with Hugh Laurie also speaking out against the Republican.
Meanwhile, La La Land swept up a record-breaking number of awards, while Moonlight took home best drama. The full list of winners can be read here.
