From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Doctor Strange, and already a plethora of fan taken set photos have appeared online.
Earlier this week, a far back shot of Benedict Cumberbatch’s titular character found its way onto Twitter, but now some high-quality close-ups have emerged, as well as some video footage.
The images, below, show a dishevelled and bearded Cumberbatch wearing relatively normal clothes for the sorcerer supreme.
They also give us a first look at Chiwetel Ejiofor’s villain Baron Mordo alongside Strange.
In the comic books, Dr. Stephen Strange is a brilliant neurosurgeon who loses the use of his hands after a car accident, effectively ending his career.
After traveling the world to find a cure, he meets the Ancient One - who will be played by Tilda Swinton - in the Himalayas and soon becomes his apprentice.
From there on he masters magic and defends the earth from numerous villains.
Rachel McAdams has reportedly joined the cast as Night Nurse, while Mads Mikkelson has joined in an undisclosed role.
Doctor Strange will reach Cinemas 4 November 2016.
