Last Train to Memphis is adapted from Peter Guralnick’s 1995 biography of the same name and will chronicle Presley’s early years and his transformation from a “high school kid to an overnight sensation credited with ushering in a radical new era in music”.
Mick Jagger and Victoria Pearman’s company Jagged Films is reportedly searching for an actor to play the young Presley and has launched a website where hopefuls can submit audition tapes.
