Your support makes all the difference.In light of, or rather in the shadow of, the multitude of allegations levelled against Harvey Weinstein, a film critic has remembered what was in retrospect a very reassuring encounter with David Schwimmer.
Nell Minow recalled how in 2010 she interviewed the actor-director for the film Trust, the meeting taking place at a busy restaurant.
When the noise grew too loud for the pair to hear each other, Schwimmer presented the option of going up to his room to complete the interview, noting that he could ask a third person to be present in the room.
"I haven’t thought of that since it happened but the Weinstein stories made me not just remember it but remember it in an entirely different context as an indicator of the prevalence of predatory behaviour and as an indicator of Schwimmer’s integrity and sensitivity," Minow told the Telegraph.
Many of the experiences women have detailed with Weinstein involve him inviting them to his hotel room for a business meeting and allegedly proceeding to ask them for a massage, expose himself and/or rape them.
"This wasn’t just about his being a good guy who would not have tried anything," Minow added.
"He understood what it is like to have to be constantly on the alert and he wanted to make sure I understood I was safe."
