The English actor will play “bookish and awkward” Will, who embarks on a two-week around the world trip with ladies’ man Hand.
The incongruous duo’s goal? To help people in need with a $32,000 insurance payoff from their friend’s fatal car crash.
Dave Eggers wrote the comic book of the same name, with producer Tim Perell’s Process Media first acquiring the movie rights in 2007. Shooting is scheduled to begin next spring.
Eggers’ A Hologram for the King is currently in production, directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Tom Hanks.
Since Radcliffe finished the eight Harry Potter movies, he has made five films, including The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings and Frankenstein.
The 24-year-old has recently dispelled rumours of a Harry Potter reunion with co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint for the opening of a new Universal Studios ride.
He was also forced to reveal that he is “totally not involved” with JK Rowling’s forthcoming spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
