From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The British actor, whose new film High Life will be released in the UK on 10 May, was recently confirmed to appear in the mysterious project alongside Elizabeth Debicki and BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington. Sources have described the film as an "innovative, action blockbuster".
AZ Central now quotes the actor as calling the film "the craziest thing [he's] seen in years," adding: "It's the length of three movies."
It's uncertain whether Pattinson means this specifically. If he does, Nolan's new film could stretch to six hours, which would be... something. Maybe Nolan is considering splitting the "massive" new film into two parts?
Last week, Pattinson revealed he was "locked in a room" by Warner Bros when reading the script in an attempt to prevent spoilers from leaking.
The Hollywood Reporter has described the project as “a globe-trotting adventure that has shades of the mind-bending nature of Inception but does involve the time continuum.”
The film will start production this summer. Pattinson's other forthcoming credits include horror film The Lighthouse - a film whose shoot was so tough he "nearly punched" its director - and Netflix historical drama The King, in which he'll appear alongside Timothée Chalamet.
Christopher Nolan's untitled new film will be released in July 2020.
