Your support makes all the difference.Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt co-hosted the premiere of Saturday Night Live's new season last night, helping lampoon his own movie in a sketch taking aim at Marvel's ability to churn out endless superhero movies and make billions of dollars.
Given Marvel just cleaned up with a movie about a pistol-toting raccoon and talking tree, SNL questioned what might be next on the slate.
"You're telling me the fate of the world is in the hands of a pastry chef, a Harlem Globetrotter, an alien realtor, a dude dressed as Grimace, and an office chair?" a head of CIA-type questions, with Pratt assuming the role of the pastry chef and leading the team in a slow motion walk towards the camera.
Taking the joke further, the voiceover guy then brags: "We don't even need comic books anymore, we made a superhero team by pointing at a bunch of random words in the dictionary," giving rise to the films Bus People, Pam, Fancy Ghosts, Some Shopping Carts and Pam 2: The Winter Pam.
The sketch, and Pratt's SNL stint as a whole, seemed to go down well with viewers, though one noted of Pam: "Haha! Like Marvel would make a movie about a solo female character!"
