The first teaser for the Cats movie has been released, giving a first glimpse at Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, and more in their feline roles.

Each cast member, including Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Rebel Wilson can be heard discussing their relations to the arts, as well as their respective decisions to join the cast of Cats.

“I came right out of a stadium tour and went right into rehearsals,” Swift says, referring to her Reputation Tour.

Ian McKellen is seen laughing with Judi Dench and the cast members are seen rehearsing their dance moves.

Director Tom Hooper makes an appearance and compares his filmmaking mission to “directing a group of world-class artists”.

Cats, based on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1981 musical, is scheduled for release on 20 December, 2019.

Jennifer Hudson has been cast as Grizabella, Taylor Swift as Bombalurina, James Corden as Bustopher Jones, Rebel Wilson as Jennyanydots, Idris Elba as Macavity, Jason Derulo as Rum Tum Tugger, Ian McKellen as Gus the Theatre Cat, and Judi Dench as Old Deuteronomy.
