“Excited to play #Zordon in the #PowerRangersMovie!” he wrote on Twitter, remembering not to include a dozen ‘flying cash’ emoji.
If you don’t remember Zordon from the TV series, he’s the guy trapped in a time warp in a command centre in the California desert who advises the Rangers on how best to kick butts.
Cranston's involvement in the kids superhero reboot isn’t actually as surprising as it might initially seem - he voiced several characters in the original TV show and appeared twice on the show dressed as villains.
He’s not the only big actor the film has landed, with Elizabeth Banks set to play villain Rita Repulsa.
In May, we got the first look at the costumes for the new team of Rangers, which look straight out of a PS2 game.
Power Rangers, as the reboot is being called, opens in cinemas 24 March, 2017.
