Bridget Jones fans already know that our favourite heroine has ditched her diary in favour of a shiny red iPad and now, her baby bump has also been revealed.

Renee Zellweger is reprising her hugely popular early Noughties role for a threequel, Bridget Jones’s Baby, with Colin Firth also returning as love interest Mark Darcy.

Zellweger’s faux tummy was spotted as filming got underway at a Woolwich supermarket earlier this week, adding fuel to rumours that the storyline was departing from Helen Fielding’s third novel and drawing on her newspaper columns instead.

Published in 2013, Mad About the Boy sees Bridget raising two young children after Mark’s untimely death.

Cinema-goers can expect to see Bridge sporting a fluffy blue coat and, naturally, a top with horizontal stripes to help her look slimmer. Happily, the heart-shaped necklace is making a comeback.

Other leaked pictures see her wearing a ‘Baby on Board’ badge while sitting on a Greenwich Park bench in the rain with best friend Shazza, played by Sally Philips.

Hugh Grant is not reprising his role as Bridget’s cheating ex-boyfriend Daniel Cleaver, but Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has joined the cast as a mystery character.

Bridget Jones’s Baby is expected to hit UK cinemas on 16 September 2016.
