From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Warner Bros. has a pretty full slate of DC films ahead of them: first up is Suicide Squad, then Wonder Woman, Justice League Part One, The Flash, Aquaman… The list goes on.
However, even with the slightly poor reception Henry Cavil’s Superman has had, Zack Snyder hopes a standalone film for the superhero happens one day and he’s up for directing it.
"I think if we could get a good script it'd be great to have a standalone Superman movie,” he told IGN.
“I think that would be fun to do. Part of the reason we haven't announced the stand alone Superman movie at this time was to support some of the events of this film.”
Cavil also spoke about the possibility of a solo film, adding: "I do believe it depends upon the success of this movie.
“If this goes well, then we can start negotiating with Warner Bros. to develop a standalone Superman, but they've got their plans set out for other stuff and Justice Leagues and various other movies, so it's about finding the time really. It's something I'd be very keen to do.”
As it stands, Batman v Superman has just passed the $700 million mark at the box office but has seen a monumental dip at the box office, dropping over 68% in its second week.
