Your support makes all the difference.Chadwick Boseman has alarmed his fans after posting a video on Instagram that seemingly showed off his dramatic weight loss.
The Black Panther actor posted the live video to launch Operation 42, a scheme that has donated $4.2m worth of protective equipment to hospitals that look after the African American communities to have been most affected by coronavirus.
While many acknowledged Boseman’s act of generosity, numerous others couldn’t help but notice that his appearance had drastically changed.
“I hope you’re okay,” one fan wrote, with another urging the actor to “reassure [his] fan base about [his] health”.
“Anyone in shock by how he looks? No shade,” another concerned follower wrote.
Fans were left wondering whether Boseman has undergone a transformation for an acting role, with one stating it could be for Spike Lee’s new Netflix film Da 5 Bloods.
Boseman’s other forthcoming credit includes TV show The Black Child alongside Common and Janet Jackson.
Following that, he will begin filming on the long-awaited Black Panther sequel.
Boseman, who hasn’t commented on the fan concern, wrote on Instagram: “I am hearing stories of desperation from people all over the country, and we know our communities are suffering the most and urgently need help. Celebrating #JackieRobinsonDay with the launch of Thomas Tull’s #Operation42, a donation of 4.2m dollars in personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals that service the African American communities who have been hit the hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
However, some fans criticised the remarks of his followers, with one stating: “The sheer disrespect in these comments is unbelievable. What’s wrong with y’all?”
The Independent has contacted a representative for Boseman.
