Before the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki was heavily rumoured to feature in the film, the actor having reportedly filmed a few scenes for director Joss Whedon.

The rumours were indeed true, the actor revealing to Variety what happened in the scene.

“It was a dream sequence. It was part of Thor’s nightmare. And there was a bit where - how does it work? - I think somewhere in that film Scarlet Witch shows all the Avengers their sort of worst case scenario.

“Thor has a dream and meets Loki, and it’s terrifying for him… As they were testing the film, the initial audiences were like ‘oh Loki is controlling Ultron!’ and Kevin Feige and all the guys at Marvel were like ‘um, no, he’s not’. So they just thought it was confusing.”

So, the footage was never released to the general public due to Marvel thinking we’re unable to comprehend Loki not controlling Ultron? Either that or perhaps it was because the movie was already overstuffed without Taylor Swift’s current boyfriend making an appearance.

In recent Avengers news, Jeremy Renner revealed that he wanted his character to be killed off in the first film, while the third part has recently been retitled.
