Four rumoured named for Joss Whedon’s Avengers sequel have been confirmed in a new poster for the movie.

The poster’s casting credits confirm reports that Anthony Makie’s Falcon, Idris Elba’s Heimdall, Don Cheadle’s War Machine / Rhodey, Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter and Stellan Skarsgard’s Dr Erik Selvig will appear in the movie.

Atwell’s confirmation comes as the biggest surprise. It was known that she would be playing Peggy Carter in an Ant-Man flashback scene, but there were no reports that she would feature in Age of Ultron.

Elba and Skarsgaard had previously revealed that they would be reprising their roles of Heimdall and Dr Selvig respectively.

Fans have pointed out that Danny Elfman, whose past composing credits include Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, Alice in Wonderland and Batman Returns, is named on the poster as having contributed to the film’s score.

The poster also reveals a new superhero in the top left above The Hulk called Vision, who will be played by Paul Bettany.

In the Marvel comics, Vision is an android created by villain Ultron, but is convinced by The Avengers to fight with them. It is not known yet how his character will be played out in the film.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in the UK on 23 April.
