Despite Avengers 4 already being filled to the brim with superheroes, directors the Russo brothers have managed to find screen-time for one more character.

13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford has filmed scenes for the as-yet-untitled superhero sequel, according to The Wrap.

Marvel has confirmed the casting but has not announced who Langford will be playing; fans believe the 22-year-old could play an older version of Cassie Lang, the daughter of Paul Rudd's Ant-Man originally portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson, who is 10 years old.

Langford was nominated for a Golden Globe for playing Hannah Baker, the leading character on 13 Reasons Why. Along with Avengers 4, she will soon appear in Netflix's Cursed, from Sin City creator Frank Miller and collaborator Tom Wheeler.

Avengers: Infinity War grossed $2 billion at the box office. Its unnamed sequel stars Langford, along with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin, Bradley Copper, Mark Rufallo and more.

Avengers 4 reaches cinemas 26 April 2019. Read everything we know about the film here.
