Deadline revealed the Selma director will adapt for the studio A Wrinkle In Time, the classic 1963 fantasy novel by Madeleine L'Engle, with a script by Oscar-winning Frozen writer and co-director Jennifer Lee.
The novel sees a young girl embarking on an epic search for her missing father, a government scientist who disappeared after working on a mysterious project involving a tesseract, capable of transportation to a fifth dimension filled with undiscovered planets.
DuVernay is also reportedly attached to direct DreamWorks' Intelligent Life, a sci-fi thriller penned by Jurassic World's Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
Lupita Nyong'o is set to star in the fable of a UN worker, employed in a department designed to represent mankind if contact with aliens is ever made, falling for a mysterious woman who just so happens to be one.
Although, could we do one better and get this talent working on a Star Wars movie already?
