From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Irish actors Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy have united for Anthropoid, a WWII drama recounting the biographical tale of the assassination attempt on Hitler's third in command, SS General Reinhard Heydrich.
In the film, the two play Czech soldiers Jan Kubis and Josef Gabcík, respectively and can be seen in the above clip alongside British actor Toby Jones (Berberian Sound Studio).
Heydrich - played in the film by Detlef Bothe - was the main architect of the Final Solution which was the Nazis' plan to exterminate the Jewish race.
This marks the first time Dornan and Murphy have acted on screen together. Coincidentally, they are both lead actors in two extremely popular BBC properties - Belfast-set drama The Fall and Steven Knight's period drama Peaky Blinders.
The latter's third series concluded on BBC 2 earlier on this year while The Fall will return for a third and final run this autumn.
Dornan is currently filming the final two Fifty Shades films following his initial appearance in E.L. James adaptation Fifty Shades of Grey in 2014, while Murphy is working with regular collaborator Christopher Nolan on another WWII drama, Dunkirk.
Anthropoid will be released int he UK on 9 September.
