Beloved This Morning correspondent Alison Hammond has confirmed a role in one of Hollywood's biggest animation franchises.

While reporting into the ITV studio from the Cannes Film Festival, Hammond told presenting duo Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that she had scored a role in the next Hotel Transylvania film.

“It’s Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation, so it’s just my voice,“ she said. ”It’s an animation film. It’s the third film. You’ll know that the first film made like $400 million worldwide. It’s a big film.“

She added: “I’m being serious - a lot of people think I’m joking around. I’ve actually got in a Hollywood movie.“

Hammond went viral in 2017 following a hilarious interview with Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

Speaking about her animated character in the film, she said: “She’s beautiful, she’s got a sexy body, red hair and I’m going to have a love affair with Adam Sandler’s character.”

Hammond revealed the film's direct, Genndy Tartakovsky, recorded a personal message to Hammond providing her with some tips on how to voice an animated role.

The Hotel Transylvania sequel will see the British TV personality join a whole host of A-list stars lending their voices to characters, including Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Molly Shannon, Keegan-Michael Key, Chrissy Teigen, Kathryn Hahn and Mel Brooks.

Hammond has been on This Morning since 2003. She shot to fame a year earlier following a brief stint on the third series of Channel 4 reality show Big Brother in which she became the second person to be evicted.

Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation will be released 27 July.
