Your support makes all the difference.The American Film Institute announced its selection for the 10th annual AFI Awards, honoring the best in television and film, to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, January 15, 2010.
The list of films is similar to other recent awards, including the Independent Spirit Awards, the National Board of Review, and the Los Angeles Critics Association. The New York Film Critics' top 2009 films, its 75th annual event, will be announced December 14.
The US television choices may resemble the Golden Globe nominees, which will beannounced Tuesday, December 15.
The inclusion of The Hangover is as surprising as the absence of Clint Eastwood's Invictus. The list of US productions is determined by two 13-person juries for both film and TV considering "significant creative and/or production elements." They include actors, producers, directors, critics, and academics.
