From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A little while ago, Screen Rant did a wonderful video highlighting some of the films that contain ‘spoilers’ within the first few minutes of the film. In that video (watch here) they included the likes of Shaun of the Dead, Jaws, No Country For Old Men and Shutter Island.

They’ve outdone themselves again with another video, showing ten more films which foreshadow major events at the beginning of the film. This time they have included the likes of Frozen, Back to the Future and Guardians of the Galaxy. Even Harry Potter gets a nod.

Sure, some of them are quite a stretch, but it is still a fun video. Watch below and be sure to skip any of the ones you've not seen because *dun dun duuuuuun* the video contains spoilers.

In our previous piece, we mentioned three other films that include foreshadowing not picked up by the two videos (Avengers, Jurassic Park and Reservoir Dogs); here are another three: Thor, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Shawshank Redemption.

In the Marvel film, Odin tells a young Thor and Loki that they are both ‘born to be kings’. At first we believe that he means they are both set to inherit his thrown, but it transpires Odin is not Loki’s father. Instead, he is the son of the Jotun king.

Indiana Jones also lays the foundation for a plot twist, but not so early on the film. When the group are approaching the Holy Grail, Donavon says they’re only steps away from its location, to which Indy says: “that's usually where the ground falls out from underneath your feet.” Minutes later, when the grail is taken, the ground starts to sink.

Finally, in Shawshank Redemption, when emptying Andy Dufresne's cell, the warden mentions how “salvation lies within” the bible. Later on, Andy uses the hollowed out book to hide the hammer he uses to escape.
