Following along Hollywood's sequel mania, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are both on board for a new ‘Men In Black' installment, also known as MIB III. Also, it will be shot in 3D, a technology that suits the subject.

The successful sci-fi action comedy, originally released in 1997 with a sequel in 2002, will be directed again by Barry Sonnenfeld (‘Get Shorty,' ‘The Addams Family').

The MIB stories follow Agent J and Agent K policing renegade aliens on earth and saving the world from intergalactic disaster.

Other actors in consideration were Josh Brolin (W, Milk) if Jones was unavailable and Sacha Baron Cohen (Bruno, Borat) as a possible alien. No word on the return on Rip Torn and Tony Shalhoub.

Jones stars in the upcoming independent film, The Company Men, a Sundance Film Festival hit with Ben Affleck and Kevin Costner.

Also his film, In the Electric Mist with John Goodman and Peter Sarsgaard, has been released in Europe this month.

Smith is in development with ‘Hancock 2,' ‘I Robot 2' and ‘Independence Day 2.'

The plan is to release around Memorial Day (May 30) 2011.
