Guardians of the Galaxy follows intergalactic adventurer Peter Quill, who finds himself the object of a bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the universe.
Parks and Recreation actor Chris Pratt stars as protagonist Peter Quill, alongside Zoe Saldana, who plays an Avatar-like creature called Gamora.
Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan stars as superhero Nebula, with Glenn Close making an appearance as a member of the intergalactic police force Nova Corps.
The film features a diverse group of characters, from a racoon called Rocket voiced by Bradley Cooper to a tree-like being called Groot voiced by Vin Diesel.
Scooby-Doo writer James Gunn has written the movie's screenplay, which he will also direct.
Guardians of the Galaxy is due to be released in UK cinemas on 1 August.
