Your support makes all the difference.Golden Globes and BAFTA winner Colin Firth, also the Oscar frontrunner for the Best Actor award, has signed on to co-star in the film Stoker with Oscar nominee Nicole Kidman.
The story is about a mother and daughter who are visited by the girl's mysterious uncle after her father dies. Actor Wentworth Miller, who appeared in Resident Evil: Afterlife, wrote the script, inspired by Hitchcock's 1943 Shadow of a Doubt starring Joseph Cotten as the mysterious Uncle Charlie.
Mia Wasikowska ( The Kids Are All Right, Alice in Wonderland) will play the daughter, with Kidman as her mom and Firth portraying strange Uncle Charlie, per the Los Angeles Times.
The thriller will be directed by South Korean Chan Wook-Park ( Old Boy) making his English-language film debut. Stoker is set to shoot in late spring for a release in 2012.
Firth will also star in the remake of Gambit with Cameron Diaz and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with Gary Oldman.
Kidman currently stars in Rabbit Hole and appears in Adam Sandler's Just Go With It, the top film at the US box office this weekend. She will next be seen in the drama Trespass with Nicolas Cage.
