The Canadian drama also has Laura Harris, Josh Close and Lina Roessler in the cast, with Leah Walker, brother Jordan Walker and MacGregor Austin-Olsen sharing the script-writing.
Fast times for Imogen Poots
Imogen Poots is gearing up for action flick Need for Speed, backed by DreamWorks. Poots is in negotiations to star opposite Aaron Paul in the big-screen adaptation of the Electronic Arts video game. Poots will play a car dealer who connects the wealthy with supercars. Scott Waugh is in line to direct.
Malick moves for Marlohe
Terrence Malick has hunted down Skyfall's Bérénice Marlohe to join the cast for his next, untitled, project. It revolves around two intersecting love triangles, set against the music scene. Christian Bale, Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Ryan Gosling and Natalie Portman are already all aboard.
Hibernation for Furious director
Fast & Furious director Justin Lin is eyeing a change from action. He's attached to direct Hibernation, a sci-fi thriller from newcomers Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Will Frank boasting a secret plot. Lin directed and produced the fifth movie in the Fast & Furious series and is doing the same on the sixth Fast.
Rose Byrne is for turning
Rose Byrne, Hugo Weaving and Miranda Otto have joined the cast of The Turning. The sprawling omnibus movie spans 30 years, and is based on short stories by Tim Winton. Cate Blanchett, Mia Wasikowska and David Wenham will make directorial debuts on the project, each directing a separate segment.
Talented trio in Civil War drama
Olivia Wilde, Hailee Steinfeld and Nicole Beharie will star in The Keeping Room, directed by Daniel Barber. Written by Julia Hart, it tells the story of three Southern women – two sisters and a slave – who defend their home against attack by a band of soldiers who have broken off from the Union Army.
