Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.
Films
The last film I saw was Moonrise Kingdom, which I thought was brilliant. I love Wes Anderson films. I only recently saw The Royal Tenenbaums as well, which I also love.
Television
I'm just finishing off the Game of Thrones box set. I'm also a big fan of The Great British Bake Off – I'm very keen on watching other people baking. I really enjoyed Line of Duty earlier in the summer; it was great to see such a new take on policing in drama.
Music
I'm really enjoying Lianne La Havas' debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough? and Delilah's debut album From The Roots Up – gorgeous mellow girl tones and songs that make you think. I like them particularly because they seem to suit me whatever mood I'm in.
Theatre
I went to see Chariots of Fire at the Gielguld which was so uplifting and such a good, exciting adaptation of the film. The theatre has been turned into the round and the running track revolves. My brother Freddie is in The Judas Kiss with Rupert Everett at the Hampstead Theatre. This revival of David Hare's play is about Oscar Wilde's fall from grace.
Emilia Fox showcases her favourite BAFTA-winning films in Picturehouse cinemas across the UK until 2 October as part of The Disaronno Film Series.
