Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Films

I'm really into Spanish film and Almodovar particularly. My dad bought me the box set for my birthday ("All About My Mother" and "Talk To Her" to name two favourites). In the cinema I loved "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "The Boat that Rocked".

Television

I can't miss an episode of "The Apprentice". It is car-crash TV. Sometimes I find myself hiding behind a cushion. My guilty pleasure is "Britain's Next Top Model".

Music

At the moment I love all the party/summer tunes that are around. Dizzee Rascal's "Bonkers", The Prodigy's "Warrior's Dance" remind me of festivals and picnics on the grass... come on summer!

Books

Currently reading "Double Cross" by Malorie Blackman. I was addicted to her "Noughts and Crosses" series. Just finished "The Savage Garden" (not the band) by Mark Mills.

Theatre

I recently appeared in "Suspension" by Catherine Johnson at the Bristol Old Vic. I saw "A Little Night Music" at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and "Brief Encounter" by Kneehigh at the Haymarket cinema. I try to see all the Kneehigh productions.
