Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

It's a Bollywood double whammy this week - not surprising since Diwali's on the way; there's always an abundance of releases around this time.

Wake Up Sid! (UTV) is out this week and my next podcast will feature an interview with its proudcer and modern day Bollywood don, Karan Johar. I'm delighted to introduce this week, though, an absolute Indian legend. Gracing the silver screen for well over 20 years and starring in some of the most successful Bollywood comedy hits of all time, it's Govinda! Not usually known for speaking to the media (rather slapping them - true!), it makes it even more special that we shared such a joyous conversation.

Govinda heads up an all-star cast for Do Knot Disturb this week. If you're wondering why I appear dyslexic, it's because Bollywood has an obsession with numerology and it's said that adding one or more Ks wherever possible will bring luck. Hmmm. Whatever! Enjoy the interview and do leave feedback
