Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Excellent. It's always very elaborate to stage and they have made a marvellous job of it. The Victorian scenery and costumes are lovely and Peter Wright has refreshed the production and added a few nice touches here and there: there's more magic and tricks and more for Clara to do.

It was a wonderful evening. The new building is stunning. I had to queue for about four hours to get tickets, but it was worth it. And there were so many children thoroughly enjoying themselves. It's just a shame the tickets are still so expensive. It's too elitist.

The orchestra sounded like it was in mono but there were very high production values. It's certainly a crowd pleaser and I can understand why they put it on because everyone is going to go away saying the money was well spent. But I think it was, the building's great.

They've a proper older person playing Clara rather than the 14-year-olds they usually have so she's doing more dancing this time which is good. And the props and the scenery are really impressive - they've got so many scene changes it feels like you're watching a film with lots of special effects.
