Digital, Cable and Satellite Television: Pick of the Day
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.WES CRAVEN has a long and honourable history in horror movies; he is, after all, the man who dreamed up the Nightmare on Elm Street cycle. In 1996, he reinvigorated the genre with the box- office hit, Scream (oddly, originally entitled Scary Movie). The sequel - unsurprisingly called Scream 2 (10pm Sky Moviemax, right) and showing for the first time on satellite tonight - has as many jump-out-your-skin moments as the original. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette reprise their roles to take on a fiendishly persistent killer in this high-class frightener.
On the off-chance that you haven't already had enough scariness for one night, this is followed by two other well-made stalk-and-slash horror films in which no teenager can sleep safely: I Know What You Did Last Summer (12mdn't) and Friday the 13th (1.40am).
