Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Pina Bausch from Wed

Sadler's Wells

For 25 years now, the choreographer Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wuppertal has been entrancing audiences the world over, but it has not been to London since 1982. Trained dancers who speak and act, Bausch's performers present sketches, games and sequences of beautiful movement, mixing genres on the principle that any medium is valid if it best serves the message. Old, young and colourfully individual, they show you life - theirs, yours, mine. They remind you of your childhood, then crystalise your adult longings and fears. They make you feel that you know and love them. For London, they bring Viktor, one of Bausch's bigger pieces. Unmissable if you can get a ticket.

Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Sadler's Wells, Rosebery Avenue, London EC1 (0171-863 8000) Wed to Sat 30 Jan, 7.15pm
