Your support makes all the difference.Dave Chappelle has been criticised for bringing on disgraced comedian Louis CK as a surprise guest at a recent comedy show.
On 4 August 4, Chappelle hosted the show as part of a series called Dave Chappelle & Friends: An Intimate Socially Distanced Affair at Wirrig Pavilion in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
The Louie star was photographed posing alongside Chappelle, as well as fellow comedians Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer and DJ Trauma.
CK, real name Louis Szekely, stopped performing in 2017 after he was accused of multiple instances of sexual misconduct.
The comedian admitted to his wrongdoing, which amounted to masturbating in front of several female comedians and writers.
He has since started performing again in a limited capacity, and self-released a stand-up special earlier this year, entitled Sincerely Louis CK.
CK's appearance on Chappelle's bill was met with criticism online, with many comments highlighting jokes Chappelle had made in his recent Netflix specials which seemed to take aim at CK's victims.
On his special Sticks & Stones, Chappelle remarked that CK “didn’t do anything you can call the police for”, and said: “Now he’s coming back playing comedy clubs and they’re acting like if he’s able to do that that’s going to hurt women. What the f*** is your agenda, ladies?”
One Twitter user wrote: "You don't always have a say who is on the bill with you, but you sure as hell have a say in being in the photos with him. He hurt and violated your colleagues. He doesn't get to come back."
Another commented: "That pic of all the comedians with Louis CK is bad... it’s not enough for this dumdum to work the right wing stand up circuit he wants to be back in the mainstream with his friends."
