Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

SWERVE @ the velvet room

Wednesday night at Swerve is Fabio's baby - five hours of urban beats fused with whatever tunes come out of the cradle. One reason for the night's popularity is the fact that Fabio gets his friends to come down and do a stint on the decks. When your friends are the biggest names in drum'n'bass, it's certain to draw the crowds. Frost makes an appearance this Wednesday. Arrive early to ensure you spend the night on the right side of the velvet rope.

Wednesdays, Charing Cross Road, W12 London (0171-424 0405) 9pm-2.30am, pounds 4-pounds 6

LEGACY @ the manor

Slightly off the beaten track, the Manor holds more than a thousand people, but I kept expecting the local aristocrat to charge in and chuck us all off his land. On this night, our right to roam went unchallenged as a full house enjoyed seven hours of deep house. Boy George takes some time out from his Culture Club resurrection act to headline proceedings with Danny Rampling (as hot as any spinner at present) also making an appearance tonight. Well worth the trek.

Saturdays, Hurn Road, Matcham, nr Bournemouth (01425 480 855) 9pm-4am, pounds 6-pounds 10
