Clubs: AFTER DARK
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Queer Nation offer a night of US house music tonight at Subsation South. Gerideau and Philip Ramirez take charge on the Technics with free admision for all US passport holders. As usual this gig will be packed out with up-for-it gay revellers, though anyone is welcome at a gig where anything goes.
If you prefer your beats raw check out the Progression Sessions at MoS this Friday. LTJ Bukem and his cohorts have given Frisky a welcome shot in the arm attracting a host of drum 'n' bass-heads to Elephant & Castle. Dark tunes in the main room and uplifting house in the bar mean you get the best of both worlds - anyone who attended last months gig will know it's a great combination.
Cheese International launches at The Square Bar this Wednesday. This fortnightly gig offers a riotous night of indie and retro favourites (1960s anthems through to modern tunes) for a predominately gay crowd. "Fun and Laughs" and free samples of Red Leicester are on offer for a gig which is hoping to make its mark.
Heading north, Miss Moneypenny's Jim "Shaft" Ryan and Craig Burger head down to Legends in Newcastle for a revitalised Lacuna this Friday. This gig is attracting much travelling support from all across the UK highlighting the on going revival of Northern club culture. But don't take my word for it - try it for yourself.
