The Republic has re-opened after refurbishment. It's good news for dozens of clubbers who don't manage to get in every week, and the extension should offer plenty of room to hold all the clubbing awards they won in 1998.
Gatecrasher's package isn't new but it's all done with unmatched style, keeping punters arriving from across the UK for the addictive clubbing vibe.
With two new bars, refurbished toilets, lounge and dining areas, luxurious seating and a new sound system, a lot has changed since last year, but The Republic still maintains its pervading industrial feel.
With residents like Judge Jules and Scott Bond, you can be sure to hear the best house music.
Pete Tong and Seb Fontaine take their turn on the Technics in the main room tonight, with Ricky Chopra, Andrew Clark and Deno in the Plasma Lounge.
With their residency at Birmingham's Que Club certain to draw the crowds, the Gatecrasher Lion goes from strength to strength.

The recent second birthday celebrations kicked off in great style, confirming this gig to be London's best excuse for starting the weekend a day early. The best drum'n'bass courtesy of the best drum'n'bass DJs keeps the crowds coming back for more. Last week, Mickey Finn kept the dancefloor fluid and Brockie follows up this week with support from DJ Pathaan. No dress code, no attitude, just great vibes in a club with a capable sound system that will have you hearing bells until Friday lunchtime.

Always a riotous night, but if you needed additional enticement then tonight's Locked On Vol III album launch party provides plenty of motivation. Copies of the album will be available for those willing to wrestle strangers on the floor. The housey influence of residents Luke Howard and Jeffrey Hilton will surely give way to the underground sound that continues to light up dancefloors. However, the "mixed" clientele doesn't need much encouragement to work hard on the dancefloor.
