Yan Huang, a unique international Chinese Arts Festival, is taking place in Docklands, and Cabot Hall is being transformed into a with tea-tasting, Chinese food, storytelling and fortune-telling as well as numerous performances of music theatre and dance. Over the weekend there will also be workshops in face-painting, paper-cutting and calligraphy.
Music Alliance Showcase

If you want to introduce your children to music that's a bit different from Steps and 911 this weekend the Barbican is playing host to the best new talent in non-mainstream music. The event includes performances from Southampton's "Mutant surfrockers" Las Patatas Bravas, as well as Yuroba Jazz People and new Welsh music from Fernhill.
Wallace Wheely
The Wallace Collection, Manchester Square, London W1 (0171-935 0687) tomorrow 2pm-4.30pm pounds 1
Hot on the heels of the Tate and the V&A, this gallery with a superb collection of old masters, arms and armour and decorative art (situated just behind Selfridges), now also has an activity trolley for children every Sunday afternoon. It's aimed at three- to 12-year-olds - although adults are encouraged to get involved as well.
RSPB Walk and Talk

Meet the Delia Smith of the bird world, Bernie Ryan, who will be demonstrating how to make a tasty birdcake for our feathered friends. His master-class, with top tips on feeding garden birds, will be followed by a guided walk in the RSPB reserve.
Toy and Train Fair

The second biggest toy fair in the country (the biggest is in April at the NEC) will have more than 550 stalls. Saturdays is for trains and Lledo die-cast toys only, Sunday is for everything from Barbies to beanies.
