Art in the Park

This annual music and arts bash offers everything from poetry and painting to crafts and clog dancing. Special children's activities include face- painting and an art trail through the park.

Vengaboys

Radio Cafe, Leicester Square, London WC2 (0171-484 8888) today, 2pm, free

If you're starting to feel old when it comes to music, you can now reclaim some street cred by taking the kids to this themed bar and restaurant. Throughout the holidays, chart-topping bands will be performing their latest hits live. Today it's Vengaboys, on Wednesday Cartoons, and on Thursday Lolly. Every day there are numerous competitions and give-aways, plus a kids' menu.

Sunday Fundays

Various parks in Hounslow (0181-993 2055) tomorrow, 3pm, free

Every Sunday in August free children's shows will take place in a variety of the borough's parks. This weekend Feltham Park plays host to The Magic Hat by Fat Cat Theatre Company, Hounslow Urban Farm has magician Willy Won't He, and in Boston Manor Park Clown Bert's Broom Broom Show will have circus skills and giant bubbles.

Activity Weekend

Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Singleton, Chichester, Sussex (01243 811363) today and tomorrow, 10.30am-6pm, adults pounds 5.20, children pounds 2.50

More than 30 activities, ranging from blacksmithing to bricklaying and milling to marbles, will be on offer at various locations around the award- winning museum of rural life this weekend. There will also be story-telling, traditional games and a treasure hunt.

Montacycle

Montacute House, Montacute, Yeovil, Somerset (01935 823289) today and tomorrow, 11am-5.30pm, adults pounds 3, children pounds 1.50 (if adults come by bike it's half price and free for children)

Slow bicycle races and obstacle courses for kids, and a "How much shopping can your bike take?" competition for adults are just some of the cycling events on offer in the grounds of this Elizabethan manor house this weekend.

History in Action IV!

Kirby Hall, Northamptonshire (01536 203230) today and tomorrow, 9.30am- 6pm, adults pounds 9.50, children pounds 5, English Heritage members free

This massive festival of living history and re-enactment will involve more than 2,000 costumed performers from 70 different societies. It's an action packed event, with flypasts, battles and jousting. NS
