Cuddly Cushions

Take a seat at the Geffrye, where activities this spring are about chairs. Today, in the museum's monthly Saturday Special event, children aged five to 15 can make cushions and take part in quizzes. At half-term (15-18 Feb), there are workshops to create whacky and wonderful chairs, large and small. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, 30 minutes before each session, so arrive in plenty of time.

Sing-a-Long a Showtune

Exercise your vocal chords with Highgate's star-struck nun, Sister Mary McArthur. Children aged three to eight (and their parents) can join in with their favourite songs from the musicals, including The Sound of Music. There's no advance booking, so arrive early. Doors open half an hour before each performance.

Paint with Watercolours

The ice rink has gone but there's plenty to entertain the young at Somerset House. As well as Saturday-afternoon art workshops (six- to 12-year-olds, no booking but places limited), the half-term events include storytelling sessions for three- to seven-year-olds (17 Feb, 2pm, free but places limited).
