From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Sex and the City fans have a new milestone to look forward to: author Candace Buushnell is set to publish two new books, announced Grand Central Publishing on June 17. The first, called The Two Mrs. Stones, will be out in 2012.

In addition to Sex and the City, which was published in 1996 and adapted into both a widely successful TV series and two films, Bushnell is the author of novels including Lipstick Jungle, One Fifth Avenue, 4 Blondes, and Trading Up. Her latest title, The Carrie Diaries, is a young-adult book telling the coming-of-age story of Sex and the City protagonist Carrie Bradshaw.

Expect The Two Mrs. Stones, which reportedly centers on a love triangle, in 2012. Meanwhile, a sequel to The Carrie Diaries, chronicling Carrie Bradshaw's post-graduation summer in New York and the start of her friendship with Samantha Jones, is scheduled for release in spring 2011.
