Who Runs Britain?, By Robert Peston

With a delivery like a weary machine gun, the BBC's Business Editor became a fixture in British living rooms with the lowdown on the meltdown. Peston has not had much time to update this lucid and outspoken analysis; his new introduction is a mere 130 words and many of conclusions ("The price of money is going up for all of us") have been overtaken by events. But his excoriation of "the super-wealthy and pusillanimous politicians" is highly pertinent. What a shame he is not so outspoken on television.
