Only Human by Jenny Diski

Always ready to experiment, Jenny Diski takes the love story at the heart of Genesis as the inspiration of this novel, narrated alternately by a hormonal-sounding God and a new-born infant. Diski breathes new life into the story of Abraham and Sarah, a familiar story of last-minute fecundity, trust and despair. At times the anachronistic tone can be wearisome, but it's worth staying the course.
