Martha Payne who blog Never Seconds has been turned into a book (PA)
Martha Payne, the schoolgirl who hit the headlines with her controversial school meals blog, has released a book charting her story.
The nine-year-old won the support of Jamie Oliver and went on to raise £120,000 for charity after her local council banned her from posting photographs and scathing critiques of her school dinners online. After receiving support from across the globe, Argyll and Bute Council relented and Martha, of Lochgilphead, Argyll, saw her fundraising total rocket. Now she has written a book with the help of her father, David. Named after her blog NeverSeconds, the book released today features healthy eating tips for children.
Proceeds from each copy go to the Mary's Meals charity, providing healthy food for schools in Malawi. Her publisher Cargo said: "Martha's story is the story of the year."
